Bushra Bashir – Dentist

BDS GDC:  252082
Bushra graduated from The University Of Glasgow in 2010 with a BSc (Hons) in Microbiology before undertaking her degree in Dentistry at The University of Aberdeen which she completed in 2014. Bushra has since worked in Stevenston before joining our practice in Troon in 2016. Bushra has furthered her studies by successfully completing her membership qualification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow.

Bushra has a special interest in treating anxious patients and is trained to carry out inhalation sedation. In 2016 Bushra completed a year-long Tipton course in order to advance her skills in restorative and aesthetic dentistry.

Bushra is also trained to carry out short term orthodontic treatment and enjoys providing people with straight teeth in up to 6 months using the CFast and Invisalign systems. Bushra is currently undertaking a postgraduate diploma in orthodontics to develop her skills further.

In September 2016 Bushra undertook a two week trip to Malawi with the charity Smileawi. They provided dental aid to those in the most deprived areas of the country and took out over 2000 teeth! When not at work Bushra enjoys traveling, reading, baking and listening to Beyoncé.


Chris – Dentist

Originally from Aberdeen, Chris graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from Glasgow University and subsequently worked in multiple practices in Dundee before moving to Troon Dental Studio in 2017.

He particularly enjoys aesthetic dentistry and takes a patient centred approach to all of his treatments. This includes ensuring they are involved in decision making at each stage, and taking the time to answer any questions they might have. Chris is currently working towards the Membership of the Joint Faculties examination from the Royal College of Surgeons England.

In his spare time Chris can be found hillwalking or several strokes above par on the golf course. He is also a keen follower of motorsport and a film enthusiast.


Amir Nazim BDS (Dundee)  MFDS RCS- Dentist


Amir qualified from the University of Glasgow in 2012 with Honours. During his undergraduate training, he was awarded the Unilever Research Prize for his Patient Management and Health Promotion project. He was also the co-founder and Vice President of the British Medical Dental Careers Fair which attracted over 1500 Medical and Dental students across the UK.

He successfully completed his Vocational Training in Kilmarnock, and has been working in General Dental Practice since.

He successfully gained the Membership of Joint Dental Faculties (MJDF) postgraduate qualification in 2014.

Over the past year, Amir has developed an interest in Orthodontics and has successfully trained to provide a number of Short Term Orthodontic treatments including Inman Aligner, Clearsmile, Fastbraces and Six Month Smile. Currently, he is undertaking an MSc in Prosthodontics (Cosmetic Dentistry), after which he desires to become a Dentist with a Special Interest in Restorative and Cosmetic Dentistry.

Out-with Dentistry, Amir likes to spend time with his family and has a keen interest in photography.

My name is Elizabeth, I started working at dental studios Scotland as a trainee in 2014 I  then qualified in 2015.  I have an interest in orthodontics.  In my spare time, I enjoy horse riding and socialising with friends.

Karli- Dental Nurse

Hi my name is karli and I joined Dental studios in 2016 as a trainee dental nurse. I qualified in January this year. I enjoy all types of dentistry and helping others. In my free time I enjoy going shopping and spending time with family and friends.


Hayley- Dental Therapist 


Graduated from Aberdeen University with a BSc in Psychology (2008) After realising a passion for dentistry, completed BSc Oral Science (2016). Works closely with the Dentists to provide hygiene and restorative treatment to adults and children. Has also completed a counselling course, which along with the psychological insight, helps provides a comfortable atmosphere for patients. Particularly interested in educating patients in the importance of oral health and how to maintain this. Outside of work, enjoy travelling and socialising with family and friends.


Rebecca Young – Hygiene Therapist 


Rebecca graduated from the University of the Highlands with a BSc in Oral Health Science.
She opted to undertake postgraduate vocational training in Glasgow the following year and has worked in various practices in the West of Scotland.  Rebecca completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Infection Prevention and Control in 2015 which gave her a deeper understanding of the organisms which cause dental diseases. She regularly attends courses to keep up to date on the latest techniques for treating periodontal disease and carrying out white fillings.
She enjoys motivating patients to help them achieve a healthy mouth and also helps them to relax in the dental environment.
In her spare time, Rebecca enjoys hill walking and is currently training for her first marathon. She also has a keen interest in Scottish History and is a member of Historic Scotland.


Selina – Hygiene Therapist 


I graduated from the University of the Highlands and Islands (Inverness campus) with a BSc degree in oral health science. After university, I completed a post-graduate Vocational Training year based in Golspie (North of Scotland)
Now settled in Ayrshire I joined Troon Dental Studio in February this year and work with the dentists to provide the best treatment and a range of care to patients. I enjoy working with children and anxious patients, making dental appointments relaxing and pain-free.
I attend courses to keep up to date to provide patients with the latest information and treatment techniques to use my remit to its fullest potential.
I am a keen dog lover and supporter of my home football team Ross County. In my spare time, I play football, swim and socialise with my friends and family.


Pamela-Reception Manager

My name is Pamela and I am the Reception Manager at Troon Dental Studio.  I qualified as a dental nurse in 2011 and worked in the Ayr practice as a dental nurse and then receptionist for seven years before moving to Troon to take up the position of Reception Manager.
