Sheraz Shafiq – Dentist

I’m Dr Sheraz Shafiq graduated from Glasgow Dental Hospital in 2003. This was followed on by General Professional Training (GPT) as a Senior House Officer in Oral Surgery at Glasgow Dental Hospital where I developed superb surgical skills, and a Senior House Officer at Maxillo Facial Department in Southern General Hospital. I was also a Community Dentist for Lanarkshire where I underwent Sedation Training along with working with people who have special needs. I completed my membership exam in 2005 for Royal College of Surgeons of Glasgow. I then undertook a 2 year course in Restorative Dentistry at Royal College of Surgeons England. I have since gone on to complete The Ultimate Implant Year Course and have travelled to different countries to gain further knowledge in Implant Dentistry including an Advance Implant Course in South Africa and several Advanced Implant Aesthetic Courses in London to mention a few. I have worked and trained with a few of Scotland’s excellent Implantologists. I have become a member of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Glasgow (RCPSG), Faculty of General Dental Practice (FGDP), British Dental Association (BDA) and Association of Dental Implantology UK (ADI).  I have a special interest in Implants and Cosmetic Dentistry. I have also completed my Certification in CFAST and Fast Braces course allowing me to provide a 6 months smile technique to patient looking to straightening their teeth, quickly and efficiently with great results. With the great results many of my associates have completed this course and have completed many cases. I have recently been involved in the revolutionary DSD (Digital Smile Design), blending digital techniques with conventional smile designs. I undertook this training course in New York City, allowing me to design perfect smiles which are in harmony with the patient’s facial profile. I provide a warm, friendly welcome to all patients and work colleagues at the practice all of whom are impressed by the amazing results I achieve throughout.

Hello, I am Rebecca and I am working as a dentist. I graduated from Dundee University in 2009 and completed my VT in Dundee also. I worked in Dundee Dental Hospital – Special Care Dentistry. I also worked as a Community Dentist in Arbroath before joining Dental Studios Scotland in 2011. I have completed courses in Facial Aesthetics, Braces, (CFAST) and looking forward to more courses in Cosmetic Tooth Alignment. I would describe myself as friendly and easy to talk to. I have gotten too many of my patient very well with the help of my Dental Nurse Lauren!

Areeb Anwar – Dentist

Areeb joined the Practice in January 2018. He has an abundance of enthusiasm and is very keen to treat patients with a variety of needs, having worked in several Dental Practices across Scotland. He has a caring and relaxed manner with patients but is highly meticulous, with regards to his dentistry. Areeb has embarked on several post-graduate courses and has trained with some of the industry’s very best – he has completed the highly acclaimed Precision Preparation and Totally Composite Courses of Dr Attiq Rahman and Dr Monik Vasant, respectively. Orthodontic treatment, such as Invisalign, can also be provided by Areeb, to straighten teeth with clear aligners, as opposed to conventional metal wires and brackets. In addition, Areeb can offer a range of Facial-aesthetic procedures, including anti-wrinkle treatment, dermal and lip fillers. Soon, he will be offering Sedation for those who are dentally anxious. Minimally invasive cosmetic dentistry is one of Areeb’s main passions, and he strives to continually learn to improve his knowledge and skills. Currently, Areeb is a Member of the British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, and sits on the Young Membership Committee. He was awarded a Finalist position in the category of Rising Star at the Dentistry Scotland Awards 2017. Aside from Dentistry, Areeb enjoys keeping fit, socialising with friends and family, traveling, motorsports, and let’s not forget his coffee addiction!

Merriem graduated from the University of Dundee achieving a distinction in her final year. Merriem jumped straight into general practice and has since then completed several post-graduate courses including Precision Academy’s “Precision Preparation” with the world-renowned Dr Attiq Rahman. As well as this Merriem is qualified to provide cosmetic orthodontic treatment having been trained in Quick Straight Teeth to cater to your teeth straightening needs. As well as finding general dentistry rewarding, Merriem enjoys carrying out cosmetic oral rehabilitation cases to achieved the most beautiful and life-changing smiles. She is qualified to provide cosmetic and non-cosmetic surgical crown lengthening procedures to transform smiles, having been trained by one of the UK’s top periodontal specialists, Dr Hatem Algraffee. Merriem continuously expands her skill set in endodontics, also known as root canal treatments, and as a result has had further training in the field at a Robert Philpott Endodontic course. Although Merriem loves and dedicates a considerable amount of time to her dentistry, you can find her at the gym in her free time, enjoys spending her weekends catching up with friends and family, and is an avid baker (“Merriem-Berry”)!

Darren Hill – Dentist

Darren graduated with a BDS from the University of Dundee in 2018 passing his final year with distinction. After completing his VT year in Dumfries, he joined Kilmarnock Smile Studio in 2019. He is passionate about postgraduate education and set to complete the 2nd and final part of examinations required to join the Royal College of Surgeons and Membership of the joint dental faculties in November 2019. He has also completed courses in facial aesthetics, braces (CFAST) and has trained with some of the industries best-completing courses in tooth-colored composite restorations. Darren is currently a member of the British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. He is friendly and easy to talk to and in his spare time enjoys long-distance running, playing and watching football, golfing and spending time with family and friends.

Greg Wilkie – Dentist

Greg graduated in dentistry from the University of Glasgow in 2019 with Commendation after completing an Honours degree in Anatomy at Glasgow as well. He has a keen interest in all areas of dentistry and regularly attends study days, enhancing his knowledge in many aspects or dentistry. He has been a member of the British Association of Cosmetic Dentistry and the Association of Dental Implantology. Outisde of dentistry he likes to keep fit and spends time with his young Golden Retriever Islay.

Abhishek is based in Kilmarnock city centre. Abhishek has done post-graduate education in endodontics. Abhishek has a wealth of experience in treating complex cases thereby helping a number of anxious patients smile. He has a particular interest in digital smile design and its use in smile/cosmetic and implant dentistry.

I graduated from the University of Highlands and Islands with a degree in Oral Health Science. Where I was based in Stornoway Dental Centre. After university, I undertook a post-graduate vocational training year, based in the south of Glasgow. I’ve worked in a variety of practices on the south side, finally joining Kilmarnock Smile studio.
I enjoy furthering my knowledge and skills by undertaking courses regularly, and I’ve recently completed a master class course in the management of the periodontal disease. I enjoy helping patients improve their oral Hygiene and achieve a healthy mouth.  In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my daughter, family and friends, and our family dog, who’s called Blue.

Hi, I’m Nicola. I qualified as a dental nurse in 2011. I originally joined the team in August 2012 in the Troon branch, after a bit of a break to have a family I came back on a part-time basis in august 2017 in Kilmarnock. More recently I have returned to full time taking on the role of the head nurse. My spare time is spent with my children, there’s always an adventure on the horizon with them.

I’m Linda and I am Patient Advisor & Reception Manager. I started working for Dental Studios Scotland in April 2012. I am based at Kilmarnock. I progressed from my previous roll as a Dental Nurse to Reception Duties and now I manage our Kilmarnock based implant clinic. Sheraz keeps me busy with all his work also! In my spare time when I’m not at work I enjoy visiting the highlands and spending time with my family and sitting with my feet up!
